On May 8, 2023, Team Mischler, led by CEO Dean Chamberlain and accompanied by Rob Karr, Head of Capital Markets, Joni Abel, Director of DEI & ESG, and Capital Markets Associate Nicholas Fiore, helped mark the 2023 ASPIRA of New York Circle of Achievers Award Ceremony.
“Knowing that our firm’s role as a year-over-year supporter can tip the scales, however slightly, in the favor of under-resourced youth who aspire to be leaders within their communities is truly gratifying”, said MFG’s Dean Chamberlain. Added Chamberlain, “When it comes to investing in human capital, other than the likes of Warren Buffett, very few can match ASPIRA’s six decades of outsized performance within the context of changing thousands of lives.”
Founded in 1961 by Dr. Antonia Pantoja, ASPIRA of New York has been at the forefront of providing educational and leadership development opportunities to Latino youth. In 2022, this unique organization served 5,978 New York City youth. Nearly all of the students come from low-income households. More often than not, they attend poor-performing schools in under-resourced school districts and are first-generation college entrants. 100% of students engaged in ASPRA’s Leadership and College Access Program earned a high school diploma; of those, 99%, entered college. In ASPIRA of New York’s elementary and middle school-based programs, 100% of students had passing grades to enable them to progress with their age group toward graduation.
Since 1994, Mischler Financial Group has directly and indirectly raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for critical veteran-centric support programs and initiatives that provide for higher education opportunities including, among others, The Fisher House Foundation, The Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation, Bob Woodruff Foundation , The Semper Fi Fund, Veterans Education Challenge , Lead The Way Fund, Johnny Mac Soldiers Fund, Buildon.org, and Wounded Warrior Project.
